Second trip of a lifetime here for me, and fourth for my Grandpa. In six days of fishing we boated 215 lakers, with 52 of those being 20 plus pounds. What other lake gives 20 pounders at 20%! The fishing was spectacular, the cooking excellent and the guides world class. Allen and Logan Oesterich, Minnesota
A fishing trip second to none. We caught so many lakers over 20 pounds I lost count. Biggest one was 36 pounds. Kelly (aka Merle) was excellent. The food, the staff, and the others in camp were great. See you next year! John & Larry Larsen, Chicago Good staff, good fishing, great time! Gordon Johnson Wonderful staff, great time, lots of fish. Thanks so much - keep an eye out for us! Robert Johnson, Texas I have been fishing throughout Canada and Alaska since 1966 and caught Lake Trout over 40 lbs. Catching big fish at Lakers Unlimited is the most fantastic experience. The food is great and the guides are excellent. Every one is treated like family. Dan Gapen traveled all over for 40 years before catching his first 50 lb Lake Trout in in Lake Athabasca. I know my first 50 lb trout will be caught while I'm at Laker's Unlimited."

Here for our 25th annual fishing trip. My dad, brother and I haven't missed a year since we were 6 & 8 years old. This will be one of our most memorable. Fishing was slow at times and hot at times, but we probably some of the most fun at the lodge around the fire. Thank you Lakers, Scott Zieman.

This was my third trip to Lakers Unlimited (all memorable), yet the best by far!! The fishing was terrific, and our friends from Wyoming, Minnesota, and California had the entire lodge. We caught well over 3000 fish in the 7 days, mostly good sized pike. Lake trout fishing was also good! One angler, Mark Vigneri, landed 100 pike on a fly rod in one day, with 7 over 40 inches! In the week, about 60 pike were caught over 40 inches, the largest 45 inches and 25 pounds! And the guides and the entire staff were great. It was the 1 st trip for 10 of our gang, and they all said the experience of the lodge, the beauty of the lake, and the fishing was all way beyond their expectations, and they all look forward to returning! "Super week! I would not have believed that so many BIG pike could be caught on a fly"!! Ed McCarthy Johnston Island Lodge From the Guest book

Dear Lakers, Jeff, Sue, & Cap'n Bruce,
Once again, thank you so much for my 4th "Trip of a Lifetime"! I am so glad we tried Spring Bay this year. The pike were one thing but getting to hang out with you, Jeff and see how the King of Athabasca looks at this incredible piece of God's Country was great. You are both appreciated and will be missed by all of us that know Lakers is so much more than a Fish Count. Buena Fortuna! P.S., we slayed the pike, with 2 over 20 lbs and a nice 27 lb. laker too. Great job, Jorden, Boyd & Kelly. Chris M. (nb: Lakers isn't going anywhere, just Jeff & Sue! Lakers Unlimited will continue its great traditio in the more than capable hands of Cap'n Bruce). Truly a lifetime adventure, unbelievable fishing, wonderful food, great people. I saw and learned a lot. That you all very much, you run a top-notch lodge. Steve H., Fla Second week at Lakers, first at spring ay. Lots of fish in both Maurice & Spring Bays. My best best was a 46" 25 lb pike caught in Maurice. Plenty of lakers up to 25 lbs as well. Thanks to Boyd for great guiding and Jeff and Sue - always great hosts! Paul D., Burlington, ON Good week for Jake (age 13) and I. Fishing was tremendous (25 and 26 lb lakers and many, many pike 36-41"). Food and hospitality were great, and a great time for all. Jake espcially loved shore lunches, "froggy", and HorseRocks! Thanks for everything! Jake & Joel, IL This trip was so much fun! The amount of fish is ridiculous. The biggest one that we caught was 44 inches and 21 pounds. Our guide was great, he put us on all oof the fish and made the ride quick and ccomfortable. He knew when the pike were most active and where most of the lakers are. This is the trip of a lifetime! Jake, age 13, IL Caught 2 50", 30 lbs lakers under the watchful supervision of a fabulous guide, Boyd. In spite of the foregoing, the highlight of the week was the quiet, serenity and natural beauty of the surroundings. All in all, a fabulous week. Gary K, ON

What a great week! The September fishing was terrific as always, and even a night out camping at Foster - it was a liiiitttle too windy to come home - turned out to be a lot of fun for everyone. It's a little warmer than usual but the fish are doing exactly what they do every year at this time: biting like crazy!

Another great week! A couple of windy days but that didn't stop anyone - the weather in general was mild for fall. It's a typical autumn up here: the leaves are all turning golden, the northern lights are dancing, the squirrels are shredding our rag rugs for winter bedding, and, most important, the fish are biting on anything and everything.

The last week of the season was one to remember - four fishermen with a combined total of over 40 trips to Lakers Unlimited, enjoying unusually balmy late-September weather and telling fish stories stretching back to 1997 (easy to do when you write down every fish you & your friends ever caught!) There were a couple of firsts: the first trumpeter swan we've ever seen swimming in our bay - and the first time we've dropped a guest off on an island to flush a moose (video coming soon!). As always at this time of year there were a couple of windy days, but in general it was sunny and warm, and it sure didn't feel like September - except for the fishing, of course.
